HJ sandman ute black outs

Can anyone help me with HJ paint black out details?
1. Correct black out details under bonnet (should be firewall, inner guards and top of inner guards)?
2. correct paint code for under bonnet?
3. correct paint code for exterior black outs?
4. Question regarding front guards black outs, the HJ brochure shows painted in car colour without black highlights, my car and most I see all have black paint highlights. What is regarded as original?

Hi Fred,

In answer to your questions,

1. Black firewall and inner guards, but not top of inner guards (the part that is actually part of the guard) that is body colour.
2. Black has no paint code was factory "slops" combo of chassis black and left over paint

4. I believe the factory painted them black (as per low gloss black referred to in above link). Not saying that some didn't come just body colour, but can't recall seeing any originally, except for brochure as you say.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the information provided. Im not sure what I will do with the guard black outs? mine was painted black but the brochure shows both ute and van as unpainted? the car is getting primer now so I have a bit of time to decide. I will wait until the colour goes on.

Personally I'd do them black, especially if yours were black originally. They definitely came from factory painted black.

I'd be curious if anyone actually knows of any that were factory non painted like the brochure or whether the brochure is misleading

if you spray the outa black outs like sills window trim etc like they did from factory you see a slight edge but if clear over base or a flow coat which makes the colour look even which looks better I think
