Fair dink. I know that ute. He called it the General. Been going to ask him for years if he still had it. He poured the concrete in our garage.

I stayed at his place overnight and at dinner him and his wife were referring the ute to the general ,he purchased it of a lady who ran one of the pubs nearby she ordered it of a sydney holden dealer in 74.the next day driving the ute out of his yard i thought he was going to burst into tears,i think he was quite attached to it, I promised to take good car of her and restore her as good as the day she came out the factory.
Can't believe he sold it really. What are your plans for it?
Full of the chassis restoration getting rid of bullbar putting original engine back in most probably put same mags back on as aparently it came from the dealer with these mags firestones i believe there called, keep it original, i can't imagine there would be to many hq kingswood utes painted in sunburst metallic with full body trim around.
such an old timer. I asked for pics and he brushed me. I asked if it had any rust or repairs and i got the most basic dodgey one or two word response. The way he justified the value was completely obscure. ie the dash guages that he spent $400 on and the bullbar that deflected loads or roos and stuff. I spent so long on the phone but It didnt give me anymore confidence to put it on a truck or fly over because at the end of the day it's just the opinion of a old bloke who is trying to sell his ute. He wouldn't give me any photos!!not to mention that he wouldn't sell it for the starting price. he wanted the full $5,900. not a crumb less.
I have a really nice 2 owner HQ ute so it was hard to justify another one. anyways i'm glad it's in safe hands! rant over :(
