I guess we have a winner.....
From my side of the fence, Slim Dusty, Divinyls, INXS a couple of times, Psuedo Echo, Gangajang, Jimmy Barnes, Midnight Oil, Michael Jackson, David Lee Roth, Urban Gorillas, Charlie Pride, Chris Ledoux, Shania Twain, Alan Jackson (was leaning against stage right in front of microphone, no concert will ever beat it). That's about it of the top of my head, a few pub bands that I can't remember.
Paddy
Sandman...Just Drive It.!
My list is similar to hainzy (varied and incomplete). My first concert ever was Led Zeppelin at Kooyong Melb. from there was a long wait until my school years and getting involved as a musician. I saw Skyhooks in '78 at our school dance and it was then I got the bug to play music.
More recently I was at the RHCP BDO in Adelaide, here's a pic of me mixing for the chili peppers in Adelaide.
Truthfully my friend has been mixing for them for years and we often catch up when he comes to OZ, best seat in the house!
Rockwiz al la Mysandman.
Need "your first album" go go with it.
barnsey u2 eagles ac/dc billy joel jackson lee kernaghan adam brand big tits dolly and rogers paul norton james reyne
stones/idol/angels/cheap trick/divinyls/inxs/midnight oil/2cellos/bb king/browne magee/midge ure/the fixx
And maybe a couple I have missed.
Cheers Kiwivan
It is not about the journey,It is the style we travel in!
Bloody hell, there's some great bands in the lists. If i dig deep, i can counter with 'The Highwaymen' and i had dinner with Waylon Jennings that night...but that's the end of my claims to fame.
If its Rockwiz then my first album was Chicago '17' and it was ground breaking new technology...it was a compact disc.
Too many to remember in one session at the computer, but the standouts were;
Kiss (many times including the 1st concert in 1980)
Bruce Springsteen
Billy Joel
Queen
Fleetwood Mac (and Stevie Nicks solo)
Huey Lewis and The News
Chicago
America
And probably the best was Paul McCartney and Wings at Parramatta Stadium
Unfortunately my memory is not what it was, but there were some good ones.....
And Blocker, one of the Chilli Peppers (don't know which one) has a beach house at Congo which is a few kms south of me. One of my mates works at the airport and sees him all the time when he flies in and out. His house is pretty impressive too for a "beach house".
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
