G'day , I am wanting to confirm if a WB chassis (RTS) is the same as a HQ Pano and that the front sheet metal and bumper will bolt up no problems , thanks

Only thing different is the snout of the chassis is cutoff the WB to clear the radiator support hence one of the 3 x bolts that hold the front bar on (forwardmost one each side) does not line up when you try to fit a HQ-HZ bar to a WB chassis. Best bet is to use a HZ chassis or find a donor chassis (any type) HQ-HZ and weld the snouts on to the WB rails where the ends are lopped off.
thanks for the info , I can get a WB chassis cheap , but it's in Bendigo , and would prefer to find a HZ roller chassis close to Canberra if any body has one , cheers
any chassis should be cheap. they are pretty much worthless unless they are rolling and even then you'd be unlucky to have to spend more than $300-400

If you have a hq van, I'd be looking for a hq chassis, not only to try to retain as much authenticity as possible but because of engine freedoms that hq enjoyed. By that I mean a WB or hz chassis will designate it a later vehicle and subject to pollution controls and the need to fit emissions stuff to your van. A hassle.
Sandaro is right! You will need to meet the rules of pollution of the year of the chassis (in NSW at least).
And you have the option of putting a 350 in a HQ too, 383 stroker maybe
You can do the same to a HJ or a HQ. It is ADR27A on HX-early WB (ADR27B and later in later WB) that stops you putting Chevs in easily.
Whatever chassis you get check closely for cracks before buying.
The chassis is the legal and ADR compliance identity of the vehicle. So a HQ with a WB chassis becomes a WB (AWB, BWB, CWB etc). Therefore to the letter of the law the vehicle must comply with all ADR's applicable to the vehicle the chassis came from. Which means more than pollution requirements. Technically you'd have to get the HQ body modified and Engineered for retractable seat belts, you'd have to change blinkers, comply with black wipers, probably change at least the dash warning lights for brakes. It may even mean changing the dash if there is any ADR's that mean you cannot have a steel dash in front of you.
This is what makes a joke of the stupid laws about changing ID plates - in theory the way to do the chassis change properly is to use the ID plates off the vehicle the chassis came from, as those plates tell you the ADR's the vehicle complies with.
