I am sure I've seen Super Mint with purple stripes before, I dunno if it was 'back in the day' or a recent rebuild but I am sure I have seen that combo and it looked good. For some reason it actually seems the natural option to my mind. Maybe there was one around at some stage in my earlier life. Perhaps Jason can find a pic of what that colour combo looked like, I recall it was pretty wild. This seems to me an important choice for sandman 78, the stripes make a considerable difference to the look of the car. Its a good question he has asked.
I suppose there is another considration, (just opening it up even further) if all the Super Mint vans restored got blue stripes from now on, but there were genuinely other factory options available, wouldn't that be a little boring? Originality from factory is obviously what most restorers would want, but there seems to me, little way of telling what that was from trim codes in terms of stripe colour, (or am I wrong)? But, if a Super Mint van was possibly purple stripes from factory, and that combo looks good to the restorer and they choose to use that colour scheme, well doesnt it mean that everyone who has Super Mint with blue stripes can happily know that their combo is not being repeated so much that it could become less unique? I recall the purple on Super Mint looked good. OK... and fire away!! (lol)

It mentions nothing about pre or post A632 colour chart.
And it is correct for what GMH called DY4 for A632 colours applicable after about 11/78. A perfect example of why you never trust parts catalogues alone - at best they are a guide. Go and look at what the same catalogue lists DY4 as in the POA list at the front of the illustration section of the same parts catalogue - it is also wrong as it lists HX DY4 colours. Have a look at section 8.312 in the same catalogue - it gives you a clearer picture. You can see the deleted earlier part numbers where the revised stripe and transfer colour part numbers have been added. At the same time as DY4 changed it appears 2 x of the others changed colours too and DY6 was added. The colour name as I typed is from 2 x far more reliable sources than a parts catalogue: HZ order procedure and HZ colour/trim album.

The part numbers are in the HZ parts catalogues, but there is obviously no part number for DL7 (delete strpes).

    The question becomes:

Are they the same colours just written up differently?

Jason reckons they are the same. I reckon there must be something different GMH were in the business of making money and only changed anything when necessary. If a part number changed it was due to the part changing in some way. The fact only 3 of the 5 changed speaks volumes too.
I'll do some.searching, I think I know how to solve it.

It would be interesting to find out. We have never seen anything else other that what we know as white, blue, blue. The blue green. I have never seen any photos from back in the day even that it was actually a colour... The guys that screen printed repro kits many many years ago. Also never did a blue green. And they had more chance of finding NOS decals that we have. as it was 15 or so years ago.

I'm thinking it's the same. People who call colours blue-green are typically colour blind/undecisive or both.
Also there should be a corrected or new part number and there isn't.

9943982 is HZ release DY4 front guard Sandman transfer
92001682 is the update with new colours.

For the guard stripes original are 9945432-3. Revised are 92001884-5.

They don't leave the old part numbers in brackets for the doors, quarters and end gate as the 12 groups are in tabular form.

I'm 99% confident something is different or there would be no change in part number like two of the other stripe combos. It most likely is colour as the colour names are different, however it could be as simple as a supplier change or a material change.

Just a thought, but perhaps the part numbers changed if a different printer was used to do the subsequent run of stripes. They may have told Holden that they would try to get them as close as possible to the original batch, but they may have been slightly different and Holden just issued a different part number to keep track for possible quality control issues.

I also remember that a van/ute tail light lens is the same as a HQ Statesman, but from memory is listed as a different part number, even though the same number is moulded in the lens.

And purple stripes were common on green vans, but I don't ever remember them on Supermint.
