NOS HZ RTS chassis for sedan

    Just throwing it out there.
How much would a brand new, never used chassis fetch on the open market?
And can it be fitted to the rear van part and make a full chassis?
    We'll get there shortly.

The front part of a tonner, ute or van chassis is a sedan/coupe/wagon/statesman chassis. You can see where the welds are and with care you can cut through the welds, dress the edges and stitch the front part in. I've seen a few chassis' repaired over the years this way.

The problem with the aftermarket rails is lack of a chassis number but at least it won't have any cracks.

So a replacement chassis from Holden would have come with numbers? Or would they make a new number?

They were usually given a police number, but I have seen a few chassis with no number at all on registered cars

No number. There used to be a significant amount of cars around in the 80's that had replacement chassis fitted after an accident, and as they were registered they just carried on using the original chassis number on the rego but no number on the chassis. New chassis were pretty cheap. Over the years attrition or re-rego and a new Police number added has made them all disappear.

Is it a HZ or a WB one? I remember friends buying new chassis in the late 80's and they were all WB.

Is the front of the rails a rounded end of chopped off? (Where the front bumper mounts)
