    2105 Van Nats HQ van with "factory" fitted 350

    Does anyone have the contact details for the guy with this van?

    There were two of them as far as known, both made by Ron Hodgson Motors. The cars are both 80170's (6cyl Belmonts) that they've upgraded to 350 and the QU engine number appears in the Service/Warranty records against the cars. What the records don't show is if the engine number is 11QU or QU as we don't know if they ratted a Statesman, a GTS or an LS for the engine and probably TH400. There may be others without engine numbers recorded too.

    We know of another dealer in Victoria that got hold of 2 x identical colour Coupes - an LS L30 M41 and a GTS L32 M40 and swapped the drivelines over and both cars appear in the records with the donor engines. The LS has since turned up in the flesh but not the GTS.

    I didn't see the car at the Nats Jennie, Oz told me about it then so did someone else. I never saw it whilst I was going around as I was focussing on Sandmans. I'd love to find the car to get its details.

    Which one was it? The rough white one in the middle or the tidier white one on the fence? I would have pictures (of the car) not the plates.
    Can't say I would be fooled by a story unless there is something or substance to back it up. Neither cars I'm thinking of were very original in appearance.

    IF you find the van, it'll have an entrant number. Then you can get the name of the owner via the entry list.
    BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman

    Good thinking. Chat with Fres. Or go on the Bathurst nats website. Have a look at the entry names. Vans are mostly written next to them. Fres maybe happy to pass on the owners phone number to you.

    Yeah it was the white HQ I asked you about on a post a few weeks back. Yes Inners it was the one over against the fence. I spoke to him at Repco in Wellington on the way down and again at the show. He is absolutely certain of its authenticity.

    That's cool, you know I love a HQ Van! So long as it can be backed up with some sort of proof.

    Here is a picture of the said Van:
