Yeah, true enough, that will make rebirths more difficult, I agree.
Recording and sharing tag details, and asking questions if you're not familiar with these vehicles is the key. And I see a lot of that so doubt anyone will get burnt.

Of course they can, but that is fraudulent and very different to someone building up their own car. Plus such people may be able to stamp a chassis but they do not know:

    Where to stamp.
How to stamp (gang air stamp or individual hand stamp).
Variations in chassis construction not only between plants but through Series.

All of these vary such that most re-stamps are identifiable with enough research.

All a lot of time and effort for such a low return - hardly worth it.

It's the same with any Holden, prior to 1980, you still need the front subframe to match which is the same as getting the full chassis to match

Agree, which is why the whole storm in a teacup about tags is stupid. It is harder again though on a Sandman as you need the whole chassis, not just a piece of sheetmetal. But with a Sandman the identity of the vehicle lies with the chassis and tags, not the body shell and tags which is a key difference. Replacing a Sandman body isn't thus technically rebirthing where it is with HK-HG and Torana.
