I will stand corrected. It's a bit ambiguous in Dr Terry's book.

Mid 67 the 186S superseded the 186X2.
Does that mean the 186s engine superseded the X2 engine or the X2 was dropped? I just couldn't quite work it out. It looks like the X2 dropped the two carbs and went to the two barrel carb.
No offence meant, I love your book and always refer to it! Just found that a little confusing.
HR had the X2 engine but later HR's had the 186S engine with 2BBL carbie. The difference is that all X2 had twin carbies and all 186S had 2BBL carbie. No 186S engined HR's carried the X2 badge.
Yes, I use the 'superseded' to mean that the newer motor (186S) replaced the older motor (186 X2). My dictionary definition of 'supersede' is to "take place of" or "supplant". It's like saying that the HJ series superseded the HQ series.
In other words, the X2 was dropped when the S was introduced.
Also, in the engine table I gave the engine number of the last 186 X2 & the first 186S.

Cheers mate happy with the score. I'll check with Innuendo first on the manifold, his first query leads me to think maybe he's keen, if so bud he got in first. Mate if Innuendo doesn't want it she's available for you all good.
It's all good, if Rob wants it. Nice that I got the option though - appreciated.
No worries Innuendo.
Big Rob Pm me if your keen mate, make an offer, Cheers
