    Another parts freight query

Here is another parts freight query for anyone from Canberra (specifically Hume) travelling to the Van Nats at Easter.

I have a set of 4 x 15x6" rims (in rim cardboard boxes) that I have to pickup from Canberra.

Happy to pay someone a bit for fuel and trouble if you have the space available. I can get them freighted for about $88 bucks, but if someone here can do it and wants a bit of cash to help with fuel cost let me know. I'll be at Bathurst on Saturday night and Sunday for Judging.

Doubt I'll be heading to the nats due to other unforeseen commitments but if you need them picked up and held let me know. I'm right near the federal and Barton highways so if someone else was heading through I'd be an easy pickup spot. Off to Melbourne for the cricket final now but will be back in town Monday night.

I may have them sorted, the guy I bought them of is going to Goulburn swap and another member here is too, and all planets aligning they'll meet!

Thanks for the offer too, I may need it yet as not all confirmed.

All sorted. It is a set of 15x6 Pontiac Rally rims. I need them as you cannot buy legal radial tyres for a GTS327/350 in 14" size to suit 14x6" rims anymore. Not easily anyway.

Do 60 series BFG T/A's help you? The bloke I got mine from is in Nowra and has 205/60 and 70 series T/A's in 14"
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

I think they are H rated (210/130) like almost all other 14" tyres. The original HK GTS327 tyres as I understand it were specially made high speed H (not sure if V rated 240/149 tyres were around then) good for 140mph. Thus using standard H rated tyres on a HK GTS327 or HT GTS350 is technically illegal. But 15" V rated tyres are everywhere and cheap. 205/65/15 and 215/60/15 in decent brands are like $150 a tyre.

Yes Byron, that's him. You will find the 15's will give you a significantly better ride than the 14's, providing you fit standard profile tyres. I would never run 14's again.
