From the information I have gathered they were different colours dependent on the drive train combination.
My Hz 253,m20 GV7 was blue,

We can restore cars back to original. But we can't restore originality.

Its a good question, I've wondered if there is some meaning to driveshaft factory colours for ages.

WBute was helping with the info, mine also has numbers stenciled on it, D 457

If you have a look at this old thread, there is info about colours and numbers

Yeah i thought that's the colour they were. Pano /ute manuals were blue.
I know that my HQ sedan 253 4speed was defiantly white as I still have it.
I think I will paint it black anyway?? As the blue it is at the moment is defiantly "ford blue (SWEAR JAR!!!)"

Yep thanks Wombat I recall the thread, nice work referencing it. Still, not at all solved though, but a start.

In terms of Rathyhg's Ford blue issue, well... I don't think you can go too wrong with black.

So far This is what around $250 will get you.... I've sill got to pay for new outer rims and fitting.

The electro plater said the rims get separated because he can't get enough current to chrome them.

I've been very busy doing a few rust repairs. Repairing some dents, bare metalling some more, and some panels have been in the acid bath for a few days now.
I'll get some progress pics soon

Some parts as they came out of the acid. Etch primed straight away. Sure beats the hell out of sanding
