I was into them a few years ago. I don't have any photos, but it was an AFX system (smaller scale than Scalextric) I had a 4 lane track permanently laid on mdf over two table tennis tables.
The plan was to put in hills and scenery but all I ended up doing was racing and drinking with mates.

I've taken both my kids to a local track called Thunderbirds slot cars http://www.tbirdslotracing.com.au/birthday.php

They have 4 layouts and computer controlled lap counters etc. Love these things, I can see I will get into trains when I get older. :errf:

    LOVE them!

Have about the same a good 20m of track. None of it is setup at the moment as the house we own at the moment is too small. Once we move and buy a larger hose in the next 6 months I will build a huge office/play room. Will setup the boy's scalextric sets! Have some drift cars. They are great fun too! Have about 4 holdens VT-VZ, few fords, 41 willy's coupe hot rod and some other random cars.

    Great fun!

I dont have the patience but like using ones that someone else has set up

I had a crack at one in Newcastle in about 91 that was massive. Was heaps of fun.

I love them,Ive had them, and train's for year's. But they have been packed away for safe keeping since I was married. Now the kid's are grown and moving out, I will have room to set them up properly and get use out of them again.
I just wish I had been able to pack my ute away for safe keeping 28 yrs ago, and now I would be able to use it again.

Rodney and I bought the kids the Bathurst set which had the sierras, in 95, we set it up and bought a Benetton, and other cars. We used it a lot, and added a friends to it to make it bigger. I spent my time buying brushes, and wheels now it is packed up. Then we set up my fathers Hornby train set, Rodney got Knite and nailed down the tracks. I built paper mache hills with the kids, and made a tunnel, played with it for 6months then packed it all up again. I always love going to those shops where they sell stuff for it, and watching their set ups run around...
