Might be some electrical cable holes.....not near my van to check it out
The one in centre has strange shaped plug/grommet - sticks out a fair bit and ends in a cone shaped point on the engine side, could take a photo if it helps. The one to left has wiring thru it on my car, but has been messed with a bit i.e. has had non factory harness wires so can't tell for sure.
Fairly sure one was blank for the integrated air wiring/vacuum hoses. Normally just a centre punch mark. Could be wrong though.
I think both are holes from factory as both 1972 and 1974 ute firewalls I looked at have them... Cheers.
Isn't the centre hole for a bolt/screw that comes from under the dash that gets covered in mastic?
My HJ ute has the choke cable running though one of them.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

Same on this (1971, Sydney build); the driver side hole lines up with the choke lever spot in the dash. It has a plug that looks similar to those holding the kickboards in (under the dash). The cone-shaped grommet is in the other as Sandaro & AN5590 say.
