    Tail Gate Hinges

The tail gate hinges on my HX are very sloppy at the pivot point. The pivot bolt appears to basically be a piece of round rod slid in and welded in place at one end. Is there supposed to be a bushing in the pivoting portion of the hinge? Or does the hinge need to float for some odd reason?

I can certainly bore and re-pin, I just wanted to make sure that there isn't some reason that the hinge has to float. thanks!

I like what you've done with your hinges and plan to do the same to mine. Was it hard?
    We'll get there shortly.

TwoTees post on his hinge fix is excellent. I highly recommend you look it over and favorite it for future reference.

No not at all. After getting to old pin out just measure to the centre of the new pin I drilled a 1/8 hole to a dept of half and then though the centre of the new pin to the middle so the two hole came together then tapped a thread the same as the grease nipple and all done. And don't fogey to weld the new pin in.
