Hi all first post on here, what is people's opinions on changing from the factory color? Is it acceptable to paint in another color from the range offered?
Thanks Paul

Sometimes depends on the colour your changing to but if its an original Sandman most people are going the factory colour these days
I find 'new' colours dont suit the older cars. I'd say yes in picking a different colour from its colour range
Wasn't referring to newer colors just the range available for that model , if it's not concourse will it really devalue it?
And yes I am talking sandman
Might depend on the colours popularity.
What colour you thinking Paul do tell

It wont devalue your car at all imo
I would say you would be devaluing the car. Sandman's are now expected to be what the tags state. This also makes the cars with the nice colour tags, running gear etc more desirable and thus more valuable. If it not going to be concours (not concourse, as a concourse is the outer walking promenade area of a sporting ground or similar) meaning the car is modified to non original the value is already decreased for most serious Sandman purchasers. That would be a completely different target market.
If it's say a non desirable colour, fitted with side windows, sunroof and tagged poverty pack driveline you could find an argument in your favour to colour change.
You cant say that it would devalue a car what if the next buyer likes the colour it has been painted
we all have different taste when it come to cars and colours
just like Byron hates green someone else will drool over green

The trend of today most people paying top $$$ for original matching tags with colour and drivelines
that doesnt mean someone wont buy it because its a different colour
