Not unless you take the ute rear window out.......thats something the V Series vanners have been doing since they were released.
Can you jump in the back seat of a HQ-HZ Sandman/panelvan?

I'd hate to imagine what yoga positions you would need to get into to move from the back/front with a ute/canopy configuration. That's why I am warming to the concept of the sportswagon with removed or fold down back seats. I know it's not a panel van, it's not in keeping with the 'tradition' but jeez the wheel has been reinvented a couple times through the centuries.
Maybe the ute should come with a Karma Sutra book in the glovebox
The VU-VF Ute to Panel Van conversion is done with the Ute rear window in place. They won't remove it. The owner can at their own risk but it is supposed to be a structural glass. We did an engineered flex test before and after and the nothing changed with the glass removed (which I did initially before further engineered modifications) it is much like a Falcon Van or a FJ Holden Van (lower load protector). So hardly convenient for passing a person front to rear. Still though better then closed up. Even the Mambo Sandman simply had the glass removed and some cleaver upholstery. One interesting things about the VU-VZ is that it has a Wagon floor pan. Rear seat frame is in place and you could easily install a rear wagon seat in much the same way you can on a FE-HG Panel Van. You would need to relocate the fuel tank and engineer the removal of the back Ute wall.
I reckon easier to open the tailgate and jump in! Climbing through just ruins your console and seats (even with no cargo wall in place). OK in an old pig but not something you would want to do with something you care about.
Should they release the Sandman VF Ute there will be a queue at AMCAT's door to make them into a Panel Van.
VF Sandman Panel Van. Something I'm looking forward to seeing with it's official tart up sticker kit. The question is; will the tart up kit be sweet like the HQ-HJ or perceived Gordy like the HX-HZ?
All very interesting!
Agree, its very exciting....although controversial ......im guessing itll be closer to the Redbull sandman decals....without the 'bull'
What a shame Motor Shows are a thing of the past now......the wagon concept couldve been displayed like the Mambo concept was..
I was surprised to learn that these iconic shows have been cancelled (a while ago) - anyway you've got this if you're in Melbourne;

Pretty sure for all our arguing if holden included a bucket and spade with barina and put a sandman sticker on it, it would be a genuine sandman. They're the ones that get to do the naming.
If tis any good and would sell is a whole different story.
