I rekon the VF Sandman interior could be the best interior Holden has ever done. Right amount of bling and looks very classy. Can't afford a new one hopefully I'll be able to pick up a decent one int 2 - 3 years. I don't know many "surfies" at the time (early 80's) that had the money for a new Sandman, most were driving old FE - HQ wagons or combi's. Boards fitted in the back and you could sleep in them. Couple had utes too. So maybe the wagon is not so far off. If you really want a Sandman Van then by the ute and get Amcat to do the Canopy.

Its nice working here and things like this display are great reminders for all the car enthusiast that work at Holden that they do work with a lot of like minded people. When I walked into the foyer and saw all this thought I was dreamin.

My plant - HFV6 engine plant shuts down in end 2016 - God I'm gunna miss this

That HZ looks absolutely brilliant in the display and under some unflattering lights!!! Talking to Dave in the shop, he tells me the ute was done by styling with the Mambo van. Not as flash as the van and the color at the front is a little darker - I rekon the van looks better. Still if they were givin it away.....

We'll have to see what the v-series database throws up as the numbers start coming in. I don't know if these will be consecutive builds?

It will certainly effect their resale value to some point. When you do a limited run of something it is always smart to number them.
I don't totally agree re: the physical numbering of cars and resale value. If it does stay a limited run then the market will know down the track that only x amount were done and with demand scarcity will uphold the value regardless. Just as we know that Holden only made 1600 HQ SS, or 600 odd LE Monaros. None of them were numbered. Or as you know Inners how many later series vans were done, they definitely command more than their ute counterparts on scarcity alone.

Maybe it will be identifiable via the trim code? I had a VU SS Fifty and from memory they had a trim or option package code on the plates that separated them from SS

Yeah I get what you are saying. But for the sake of numbering them like they did with the Lowndes Commodores it adds to the prestige.
Ford 100% got it right with the XC Cobra where as GHM failed with the LE Monaro. Numbering is not a lot to ask. As with all collectables the lower the number or a favourite number would add a premium.
I.E: Number 05 Brock Commodore would command extra resale value if for no other reason than the novelty. Same would be true of the one numbered 250 of 250 etc.

That is potentially true and one to look out for.
