Catch ya there guys
Getting lots of negative comments on Facebook. None of them are too clued up on what the original Sandmans were though. I think GMH should give up on social media as a tool for marketing really.
Is it coming out in silver?
Here is the link for computer users.

The Ute looks the goods, just needs the AMCAT canopy fitted.
I can't buy into the Sportswagon at all. It might grow on me but at this stage it's against the concept (in my brain anyway!).
The orange "shag pile" is such a cliché an a poor unwarranted attempt or some fools impression of what a Sandman was. A lot like the stupid comment "minus the fluffy dice and heart-shaped windows" which of course Holden never offered.
Anyway all good for a discussion and nice to see the Sandman back on the sales yard.
To my eyes the ute looks OK, wagon looks silly. At least the orange shag stuff is optional. For $3000 extra on top of retail i'd rather do a good deal on an SS-V and have it without all the stuff on it - black wheels and bar look good though. You can buy an SS-V off carsales without haggling for $47631, you'd probably buy one for closer to $45k if you tried.
Total: $2950 extra for Sandman
Let's play dealer fitted accessories
Sports bar: $1040
Black fender vents: $95
Floor mats: $130
Leaves $1685 for
(no price differential available)
Black grille package (factory parts bin)
Sandman stitched on dash (in place of SSV)
Decals
Sunshade
Bigger wheels/tyres
Similar black wheels with tyres: $2070

Say the original 19 inch rims and tyres were only worth $1000.
That leaves about $600 for the stickers and sunshade.
The accessories page lists the Track stripe package for sedan at $130.
Expensive sunshade.
We'll get there shortly.
That's $2950 on retail, and lets say that there is 4 x models they are making the package optional on so maybe a 1/4 of the 250 (62-63) will be SS-V's there will be no haggling on the price. I'd bet I could walk into a Holden dealer with cash and drive away with an SSV ute for at least $5k off the retail price. I'd be disappointed if I couldn't get an auto one for $43-45k.
I'd rather not have the wheels anyway, i'd much rather have the 19" VE versions painted black or dark grey as on the Storm utes:

Or buy scratched silver ones cheap and paint them black, I've seen a full set for $400-$500: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Holden-Co...item46373c344c
Only reason i'd change them is I don't like the fussy looking black and silver standard wheels
Just read online about your new Sandman.looks damn cool. Who is this guy andy hoody that runs this site never heard of him before
