Has HT tail lights & stripes too.
Type 1 did (Tonnawanda US engine). Type 2 (McKinnon Canada) engine looked the same as a HT 350, with alloy finned rocker covers with oil filler, long nose water pump and alternator over the top of the driver's side cylinder head
It could be a GTS350 but it is more than likely a GTS or V8 GTS with a Chev put in.
There was a great article about this in Aust Muscle mag a few years ago, as someone said. Ill try to dig it out. Its a great read. If I remember correctly the guy asked the old lady about it when her husband died and she wouldnt sell it then quite a few years later she called him again and said do you still want that old car? Something like that. but Ill try to post it up.
This car belongs to a good mate of mine, despite the pictures and the grass the car is very close to rust free, once he pulled it out of the shed and gave it a good clean it was amazing how good it actually is, it is an early HT with 307/glide and power steering, it has the original running gear still in it, it is not restored yet as my mate has been finishing off some of his other cars, the car belonged to the brother of my mates old neighbour, the said brother had a nasty motorbike accident some time in the 70's and ended up a quadriplegic so the car sat in the shed until a few years ago when my mate bought it.
