    4.2L auto WB tonner cheap

Out at woop woop at Lake Cargelligo NSW so probably will go with 1 x bid. Currently $500.

Looks like a pretty rust free V8 auto factory A/C WB tonner with original Alcan tray. Has a pair of original WB buckets in it for anyone looking for a pair. Would be a good thing out there, minimal rust.

Buy it now for a grand!

Probably worth more than that in parts.

It IS in the middle of nowhere though. Back in the late 70's I worked for Telecom (Telstra now) and Lake Cargelligo was the place you got transferred to if you got in the bad books of management! (or that was the threat anyway).
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

When we did the electrical upgrade design and commission for the Euabalong West Graincorp silos the guys stayed out there. I handed that one off to the new guys for a reason!

to be honest, the further isolated a community is the more genuine the people are. Also the stronger the community spirit is. I would rather be in Euabalong West (I raced through there in the Condo 750) than living in a suburb with my neighbours gutter touching mine.
That one tonner has what appear to be factory buckets and seat belt stalks too. Unusuall in a one tonner if they are original I would have thought.

The reason I handed it on to the other guys wasn't because of the people, it was the remoteness as it was at the opposite end of NSW to where most of the rest my work was. At the time I was doing the designs and commissioning for silos in areas with much worse social issues like Walgett. The small sites up there were pretty remote too but closer to the bigger sites I was working on so I could move from site to site in an hour or so, places like Weemalah, Cryon, Garah, Merrywinebone, Burren Junction, Gurley, Edgeroi, Croppa Creek etc. When the southern sites like Euabalong West and Condobolion came up I gave them to the new guys we took on as it became too much for me alone. One year I did a batch of mid NSW sites like Nyngan, Coonamble, Trangie, Narromine etc.

Oh. That wasn't the "reason" that sprang to mind....
You might be interested to know that GrainCorp shut all the silos East of the Newell highway last year. Wheat is now only really grown in the marginal farming areas west of the Newell.

I don't think we barely touched a silo East of the Newell when I was doing this work in the mid to late 90's. The only ones I can think of were Croppa Creek, and technically Moree silos are on the East of the Newell but only because they are on the side of the Newell highway. Most of the silos in the north area, East of the Newell were closed back then, I remember Manilla silo was used to store beer for the local pubs back in the 90's. Back then Graincorp were not only wheat, but Barley, chick peas etc, even Cotton seed in the big shed we commissioned in '99.

from Dubbo through to Orange and north to Gunnedah they shut all the Silos. These are or were all big grain growing areas. Every town had silos in these areas. Our local Silo was 30 km away. Our nearest is now 160km away.

The successive government's really know how to look after the people west of the divide James. They only have an interest in the shiny arses at the big end of town, the one's who fund their election. They don't give a shag about the farmer's, only the shiny arses.

Weemelah, theres a name I haven't heard in a while, spent 3 weeks there in the late 90s carting grain. Used to put the board strapped to the front of the trailer across the seats and roll out the swag. Silo's ran 24 hours, thank goodness it rained a couple of times so we could get some sleep.Scan0001.jpg
