I've just finished fitting new rubber seals to upper and lower tail-gates on hq van. Now there's no chance of closing them even with full adjustment on catches. Is there any suggestions out there

A real hot sunny day helps, and once you get them shut, keep them shut for a while so they settle in. I had the same trouble with the boot seal on one of my Toranas. It's good now, but it took some work.

Same I did both,Left the van out on a stinking hot day and all is good now.
For a while just had to push the outer edges of the top tailgate to close.

It is not about the journey,It is the style we travel in!
A bit of talc or baby powder can help as well.
Nunc est bibendum...
I was told there was also a rubber spray you could purchase off rares to help with the settle in?

Rare Spares has RM5 which will assist you. It is SILICONE FREE so it can be used in paint & panel shops.
How does that work?
