Oh now I get it Inuendo, they went back to long grain. Strange my interior doesn't look like long grain but it must be.

It does appear to say it's a V trim. So do the other 4 WB's here. Different colour prefix on them of course. So they must have reverted to the V code and only used the C code in late HZ. As far as I am aware the pattern in the dash pad is the same for C in late HZ and V in WB. Strange days indeed.
It isn't just the dash pad that changes with HZ C trim over V though. From memory the HJ-HZ W, X, Y, A and B trims are called Caribou (I assume because the vinyl grain is a replica of a Caribou leather), not sure what the C vinyl grain is called. I think HQ was Roebuck but can't remember for certain. I don't recall seeing many or any WB's with C codes but they are listed in the WB parts catalogues so maybe only the early ones built prior to VC volume production?
I just checked the WB parts catalogues and as these don't have a table in the front like HQ-HZ you have to go searching. I can't find a WB commercial with C trim code only Statesman.
The paint was that colour available in a 1983 wb kingwood
Not sure mate. Byron may know?
Its a photo of my hz sandman ute. in about 1997
