    The link HK put forward is interesting its a good idea to have classes for survivors. ,you can paint the front half of the car, recover the front seats & replace the diff. Bronze class survivor or part restoration. No mention of NOS parts.
    Its a very difficult & topic Restoration.

    Only if you are entering a show to be judged. That's not the be all and end all in owning an old car is it?

Motor , gearbox, diff and reconditioned including new components such as starter, alternator, carbie etc etc. Electrical also at the very least tidied up if not replaced and should also go without saying full bare metal respray including engine bay & underbody and all interior replaced or in excellent condition same with wheels and chrome work etc. I just think there a lot of ads out there that are misleading or the sellers really have a different spin on what a full resto is my thoughts anyway but if people expect top dollar for that particular model they are selling I would what all the above ticked off.

    I agree. It is good to have a decent terminology though that can be used, even if loosely!

    I completed a FULL rebuild of our Brock and that included a new NOS wiring loom(including dash refurb)
    Overall it was huge money and 5 years worth of work.The car is better than when it was rolled out of HDT.The only thing that was not new or recon(by me) was the alternator as that was done 6 months prior to me buying the wagon.

    Not a holden but 3 months ago i brought a 1966\67 vc valiant safari wagon with 34000 genuine miles on it.coming from out west its rust free,the tyres are stamped 4-69 the spare is original tyre.the interior would be 9 out of ten but brittle even has the original vinyl floor with not a wear mark where the heel rested.i started it after 26 years bent a couple of pushrods rebuilt the carby and it runs sweet as.all the paperwork is there plus accessories pamphlet.the only downside is they painted over the metallic silver and its a horrible beige colour.it is a beautiful old honest car.

    The vc also still has the 4 poster bullbar, bash plate from bullbar to back off gearbox,bash plates around the fuel tank,the owner reckons it came from CAL with all the bash plates and bullbar ordered new. The car had all new brake pads and cylinders with master cylinder kit in a box in the back dated in 1993 so i used all them and rebuilt the brakes .the wheel weights are still in ounces not metric.the steel bash plates are thicker than 6 mil but thinner than 8mil so must be imperial size.apparently it was the running to town car i don't think it ever drove on bitumen looking underneath it lucky it had all the protection under vital parts
