This dash pad is in my HX, should it have 2 air vents in it ?? In the padded part not the actual dash. Thanks

great question as I've owned a very original HZ base ute with single vent. I always thought HJ were single and HX onwards were double.

Yep I've seen pictures of all sorts and am stumped, I am sure that when the old man upgrade from HQ to HX the HX had a vent in that part of the dash...waaaay to long ago to be sure
HJ non forced air induction. They all had the second vent from HX onwards. It was optional on HJ.
Might be a poverty pack set up my 77 hz tonner only has one vent on passenger side and another tonner hz was the same
C57 Forced Air didn't become standard until sometime in HZ.
Happy to be wrong. Poverty pack is the answer though.
Looked this thread up to try and find an answer to a discussion I got into last night. I asked old mate why some dashes on the passenger side have a single vent and some have two. His answer was,all sedans had 2, bench seat utes and vans with a three seat cap had 2 so every passenger had a vent and two seater capacity had 1 vent! Is this feasible or can we bust this myth?! Has anyone really made a comparison to see if this is another way of identifying a factory 2 seater by the dash components.
My HJ Kingswood has 2 on the left and is (was) bench seat original. The dash pad is not original, but all the ducting appears to be, so I'm assuming it was like that from new.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
