The correct oil pressure sender for HJ, HX, HZ (& WB Commercial) is 360.005. It's resistance value is 73-10 ohms.

The 360.004 sender (10-180 ohms) suits HD to HQ Holdens, as well Commodore & WB Statesman.

This is where confusion sets in, the WB Commercial sender won't work in WB Statesmans & vice versa.

    Hi All
Thank you Terry for the info ,but on the vdo link for the 360.005 sender it states that
is 10-180ohm which must be WRONG ON VDO's behalf
Have just been down to Repco on their computer and it says the same as you 73-10ohm--------WTF
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP.

    P.s
James I don't doubt your spare parts knowledge ,That is part of
The reason I asked on here.
I can only go by what it read on the Vdo web site..
    Regards

This sounds like a headache! I'm sure that once you have this worked out you'll be able to help a lot of other people!

    Including myself

Is this why I could not swap my HX van one into my VL Brock?(tried it and it just went backwards?)

    Cheers Kiwivan

And yes that is why the Hx sender works backwards in the VL...

The worst part is that going to the manufactures web site looking for
what you think should be the correct answer and it's not......

I learnt a long time ago with these early Holdens that it is always one of the other.
In your case it is the 360-005 you require with adapter.

If you went to repco ten years ago they just asked if you had a gauge or idiot light and then handed it over the counter. How times change.

Why is an adaptor required ?

Both these senders have a 1/4" NPT male thread which will fit any Holden 6 or V8 (not Chev).

No adapter needed I was thinking Neil had a Chev. But realise now it's still a Holden V8.
