Hey Panoz,
In the end I gave up, at the moment it runs just above the red on the highway but at idle the needle is essentially not doing anything. Short of trying my oil pick up and pump I'm not sure what to do?.
Tried the resistor test.
Tried a new four gauge cluster
Tried 4 different sending unit
Replace wiring.
Any thoughts ?

I would go and buy an after market oil pressure guage and test it just tape it to the windscreen wiper and go for a drive I reckon earthing could be an issue but you need to know the actual oil pressure

I have thought about that too, will give it a try one day. I've moved onto other problems but will come back to this one
It's got bad oil pressure and the gauge is correct???
If you ring VDO and ask for Graham Tilley he might be able to advise. Roger Howard at Howard Instruments could also advise.
