I still remember when I got into this game in the late 90s. I don't thing a saw many hq front utes, all swapped out for the twin (quad) hz fronts with hj stateman grills or wb caprice front clips.
Funny how tastes change.

I must be the only guy here that actually prefers the design of the HQ dash. Seats i disagree with, pretty comfy ...well, for my ergonomic arse anyways But whole heartedly agree with seat belts, console and throttle linkage.
Freedom of speech Gene....go for it. But we already know what side of the fence youre on
Thats a matter of perspective pal
Anyways....back on topic....congrats on a superb van. Top stuff

Amen. (Big Grin!)
Anyways, Sweet looking van Hdtrod, well done, and congrats on a top first post. Welcome to the site!
PS: If you havent done so already, have a browse of the technical pages on this site as you get time, they are well laid out, with some really useful content.
Great to see another one back on the road.
I agree with you but the dash in our HQs van is shocking at night but the Monaro is all new with silver facia and brighter lights and looks fantastic,I also like the HJ style seats but again the monaro had all new foam and any broken springs replaced and recovered and they are very comfortable, most people just put new covers over old foam,it is well worth the extra money to get it done properly. As for the throttle linkage even tho the HQ linkage is big and ugly I don't mind it,I have had trouble with a cable binding.Retactable seat belts are a big improvement but our coupe is an early one and the top mount is further back and it would be very hard to reach a retractable belt
Nice van Mate.. Now its time to enjoy it..
