If you aren't in a rush word of mouth advertising can be a good thing. Hope all is OK with it!

    Quick question.

This engine only has the engine side of the mounts fitted. I've been told the other half of the Holden v8 mounts will fit.

    Is this correct?

In a HQ they have a steel engine mount adapter just like a 253 or 308 (but a different mount), and the standard V8 engine mount goes between that and the crossmember. This was in a HQ so it all should still be there (other than the radiator).

Yeah the adaptors are on the engine but no rubber mounts. He said one of the rubbers had separated and obviously didn't give me either of them.

But if the other half is the same as what's on the 304 already in it she'll be sweet.

No worries. I'll find out either way when the 304 comes out.

So... Toranafest in September and a couple of decent trips in it means the LJ has been getting all the love lately. After the fest the Q should get a look in.

Solved my dash issue the other day with this:

    Bye bye shitty old dash.

Wouldn't mind a 140MPH speedo though if anyone's got one laying around...

And on a sadder note, I'm now vanless as the HX had a fair bit more rust than first thought and I basically had to pick it or the Q to keep. I made my choice.

Still love my vans though and who knows what the future will bring...

We can restore cars back to original. But we can't restore originality.

I don't mind that, looks good.

I won't be using the blue heater controls on the GTS dash I bought, and I'll get a new facia, but the gauges are pretty good. A lot better than the pic I posted makes them look.
