    73 HQ Panno

Ive got a line on an original 73 HQ panel van which has an L31 M21 GU(v)4 on the plates. A mate of mine who knows this stuff says that commercials of this era didn't come out in this configuration( only 253 4 speed)? I would love a HQ sandman but wont hold my breath, so im thinking this might be a great alternative. It has GTS dash and all the good gear. Would appreciate opinions. Will still stay on the hunt for a 308 HQ sandman.

Weill if your mate that knows his stuff is saying that you couldn't get a HQ Panelvan with a 308 Aussie 4 speed he would be wrong , HQ vans from factory with a 308 are pretty thin on the ground these days let alone HQ Sandmans if its good tidy van and the price is right grab it.

I want it bad!! Just trying to convince the minister for finance/war that it is worth it. I already have a few projects on the go, but am willing to sell some off to do this. I brought the HZ in the avatar to keep the peace (fit the family) and have another wagon (350 HQ)but desperately want a HQ panel van. Like most experts possibly a drip under pressure.

Negotiations are still ongoing. Like in any standoff, give and take may win the objective. MAYBE??

Not an XX7 if 1973 plated (won't have a console mount) but still a good thing. 308 HQ vans prior to Sandman were as common as 253 4spd examples.
PS the wagon is far more valuable and significant than any HQ commercial except for maybe one example.

HK the wagon is on the go with a mate of my dads who is retired doing it right, although at a slow pace. I love this car, but for 7 or 8 years i have only wanted a HQ panel van. Balancing act mate to get it all approved by the finance department.

Lost a bay off my shed for the Bob wagon, but couldn't see it parted out. But the heart wants what the heart wants. If the Boss says its OK. Im pretty lucky in that rather than reno's to the house i was able to build a nice shed. If i lived out of a cyclone zone it would have cost half as much.

Diff would normally be GV2 with L31 M21.

To put it into perpective, having that wagon and desiring a HQ van of any kind over it is like having an L34 and wanting an SL/R! But you are right, if you want a HQ van then go for it.

Well stupidly i won't both, but only time will tell. I would love to pull into somewhere with the Panno towing the Wagon for a show.
