Who from Brissy southside remembers this? Was often many a panelvan parked in the carpark.

What was it called? I can remember going to one place up there in '82 called "Mirage Grand Prix" They had water slides, go carts ( they were in the form of a formula 1 car) and other things, I can't remember too much of what they had, that was 32 years ago and there is a lot of substances that I had since then.

Mirage Grand Prix was at Oxley on Ipswich Rd, the people running it were idiots and too strict. Me and three other mates went out not long after it first opened, spent about $20 each playing pinball and video games then $10 each on a licence to drive the carts and $15 each for three laps.... All three of us spun out on a hairpin bend in the first lap and were stopped and our licenses taken off us with no refund for the unused laps.... There was hardly anyone there and we were the only ones on the track... Friggin rip off and we never went back... No wonder they went broke within a couple of years.

Yes mate, I remember it alright lol.

Harvey Norman is across the road now, ( there used to be a car yard there at Harveys then, bought a xa coupe there in 84 ) and Oxley wreckers with the jet which is still there a bit further down.

The Oxley hotel was a tad west ( still there ) and up from there was a company head office of a multi national that I worked for, for some 22 years and which is no longer there.

Cades County water park and the BP there were my customers as well!
