I only say this as someone that had to basically rebuild a car because the previous owner thought nuts, heads etc looked ugly and in their rebuild hid them from view...ie: in non factory spots that you can never reach once the engine is back in and the body is back on
For example, all hose clamps and CV boots (n/a in your case)
Thanks Blue victor, yes i do get annoyed when a clamp position just doesn't work well, or the effort to hide things starts to impact functionality. I'm trying for a show finish but happy with bolts where they need to be, in fact bolts done well, can look a real treat.

Ok, so onto the fuel tank now. Just needed to set up the new fill point entry before sending tank off for EFI mods, MRA installation and powder coating. Been putting it off, but grabbed the hole saw and decided to get it done today.

Good to see the taillight filler is still on the agenda.

Thanks Innuendo. Yep the taillight filler is still on and the tank is now at the shop getting its MRA assembly fitted and powder coated. Had some more good news today, I got a call from HM and the engine was ready for pickup! Had the day off (perfect day for it in Melbourne today) so shot down there and grabbed it. Good news is that during the machining, there were some gremlins with my block so after some discussion, I've ended up with a different block...and its a VT roller cam block! Happy with that upgrade. Couple of pics below

Thanks man! I'm itching to bolt the engine together but too scared to do the bottom end on my own. Waiting for a good mechanic mate to drop over and hold my hand...

    Damien,
With the supply of the new block, did they also supply a crank to suit? Cranks can be different over the eras, like in the rear seal area. I don't know much about VT blocks, but just thought worth mentioning.

    Hey thanks guys.

The crank is a COME racing 355 stroker crank and was balanced during the machining process and mocked up in the block for conrod clearance, so should be good i assume?...Might ask the question about the seal though, cheers for the suggestion.
