Yeah good points, i haven't got that far yet as i'm looking at how to snug things away first. I reckon an idler pulley will pop in somewhere but hopefully a nice solution pops up.

It should work with 2 belts, you just need to get the alignment sorted using shims or spacers on the brackets you make. Build some adjustability into each bracket to allow for belt tension and you should have it nailed without the need for an idler.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

Ok, the belt and pulley thing is pissing me off so i have moved back to the van body stuff. Here is another minor update, with an interesting pic for anyone who wants to use WB Statesman bits in their van or ute. The console doesn't fit naturally and needs cutting, as the tunnel turns up in vans and utes as opposed to the sedan version.

Oh, and you need the weird mounting bracket for mounting the back end of the console. All good stuff but it had me stumped for a while, why my panel van bracket wouldn't fit.

I went over my passenger cab area yesterday marking out all the final holes to fill in the floor and making sure the seats fit etc. One extra cut I'm making is for the stereo head unit. I want to fit a 7 inch double DIN Alpine touch screen unit to my dash, but some metal needs to be removed for this to fit. It should all slide in ok after this. FYI, this probably wont work with GTS or standard dash boards.

Had a call today from the panel shop to come down and answer a couple of minor questions regarding hole filling underneath. I thought it looked pretty cool with the body rolled over and a MIG welder going underneath. I should be picking up the TIG welded boot tomorrow so hopefully some sexy pics to come.

Thanks RAEME. Well more pics today, not quite the Ta-Da! moment i was hoping for, but a couple of interesting tit bits anyway. Look for the TIG welding in progress and the welded on captive nuts under my body. I reckon they are neat!

Make sure you put plenty of never seize on the bolts in those captive nuts.

Agreed wbute, these are the bucket seat nuts and will be exposed to the road conditions. Panel shop reckon they are about finished underneath and we should be painting within the next week. I'm nearly bursting out of my skin with impatience at this point.
