    Lead fill and file finish, got to love old school repairers, the old man is doing a great job.

    Decided that if I am going to do the job, might as well do it the right way.

    Drilled out all the spot welds, did the same on a donor car and replaced the whole panel.

    Wow, don't know whether your super committed or should be committed!!! Either way very few cars in this condition get resurected. This is a fair dinkum restoration.

    Thanks Sandasharpe, I can see how a panel beaters bill can grow and grow, 3 days and 4 spot weld drills just in the unpicking. I am trying to do it right rather than patchwork and my father in law is a bit of a perfectionist like me so keeps me honest.
    I once heard a saying about how to judge your panel beater, have a look at the floor or a place that wont be seen. Most panel beaters have the opinion that "it wont be seen why worry how good it looks?". I think it reflects on workmanship take the same care as if it was an outside panel, reputation lasts and so should your repairs, as my father in law keeps telling me.

    You are right Wombat - I work with lots of people, building engines is a people business and its demonstrated to me every day attitude is everything. Sounds like you Father In Laws blood's worth bottling.
