Nah Adam, that's a walk in the park. A mate of mine bought a van in Frankston, Melbourne and we towed a BP servo hire car trailer from Brisbane down to pick it up.... loaded it on and towed it all the way back to Brissy. 22hr trip each way......

Not long after I bought my Sandman in Tamworth and did the same thing again although only 7hrs each way that time....

Only hairy bit was coming down the Toowoomba range on the first trip and coming down Cunninghams gap on the second trip..

    sorry..

    Hi blocker,
I have a trailer but it is un insured, i would be more than happy to give you a hand around adelaide. but at the risk of sounding like a chode, probably wouldn't want it going interstate as i heavily really on it for work & i only own 1/2 of it! sorry for being a tease.

    no worries mate, it's ok.
I have hired one, the bugger is it's cheaper to do a return hire than a one way.

I consider myself an expert on setting up the van on the trailer, ever since stickthis showed me how. Survived that 700km trip, I guess I can do this one too.

That has nothing to do with the ability to tow a trailer. You can tow an un-braked trailer to a maximum weight of 750kg.

For trailers with brakes the vehicle manufacturer specifies the maximum trailered and ball weights. My Landcruiser is specified to tow a trailer up to 3500kg with a maximum ball weight of 350kg.... the Landcruiser doesn't weigh anywhere near 3500kg.

From memory my old BA Falcon one tonner had a 3500kg towing capacity also...

    adelaide to melb

to late but for future ref, i have a contact that runs a semi car transporter to melb from adelaide once a week. it cost $300-400 to get a car or van door to door (if the semi can go down your street)
he also operates a tow truck in the adelaide metro.
