Just wondering.
If you have a 2 sweater car with an Aussie 4 speed, was it possible to option this in a base model and end up without the console mounts?

That is how it was from the time you could option a 4spd on a Holden commercial (HK around 7/68) to HX release, ie there was no console shift outside of Sandman (of course Sandman only from 1974-the end of HJ). Commercials got floor shift ie no console. If you optioned buckets or buckets and auto you got a seat separator (ie 3spd manual or column auto) but if you optioned buckets and 4spd it was blank between the seats. The only exception where floor shift 4spd came standard was when you optioned 307 or 308 on a commercial. In HK-HG if you optioned 307 or 308 and didn't also option auto transmission, buckets were mandatory but in HQ-HZ you could have 308 manual with a bench seat.
Once HX came around console shift was optional on commercials (manual or auto) but I don't think you could get it on cab-chassis.
So what about bench seat with a floor shift? Was there a "front half console" or was it always just left completely console free?
There was only one console (with variations of the same theme along the way) for commercials. Benc seat with floor shift was basically almost always vinyl floor with a rubber boot around a bent stick.

Which commercial? ute/van, cab-chassis or Kingswood ute? At the moment I have Kingswood with carpet but the others with vinyl, but I have to confirm it as other documentation shows B30 (carpet) not available on HQ commercial.
I will eventually find the answer but I'm about 90% sure you couldn't option carpet (as assembly plant fitment) on a HQ Belmont van. Dealer fit, yes.
Thanks hk. So the 30b trim code is for the seats only?
