Hi,
Just wondering if the wheel trim rings were standard on the rallye wheels of HX Sandmans? or were they a dealer accessory?

that is a great question. i'd say the were fitted when sold but HK will know
BQZ
HQ & HJ they were not standard equipment and that is stated on the ads and brochure where they are pictured with them. But there is no such notations that I can find for the HX & HZ and every Holden pic I can see the cars had them.
As such I am thinking they were standard on HX/Z.
HZ Persian Sand Mk2 Sandman (under full restoration)
HX Chamois Monaro GTS
Part 2823098 shows in the parts books HQ up to HZ as the wheel trim to fit Rally wheels. they are sold now as Rare Spares part WT1004 as a set of 4 or WT1001 as 1.Wheel size 6.00 x 14
Im sure they were standard fit dont remember ordering them back in the day for Hx sandman ute couldn't afford to many extras
Thanks for the responses guys. I guess they were fitted factory.
Every Sandman I ever saw new back then had them fitted, it was a very rare set of GTS wheels that didn't have trim rings whether it was a Sandman, Monaro or whatever. The only new car I remember seeing without them was the L34 and A9X Torana. Both of them were stripped down bare essential cars, so trim rings didn't get a look-in.
So anyway, even if they weren't "factory" standard, they were fitted anyway just because the wheel looked finished with them on.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
They weren't standard when i bought my Sandman. My avatar is how I bought the van in 1974.
From what I understand, P06 was standard with N66 whenever N66 was optioned or standard on HX and HZ, but it wasn't in HJ so I presume HQ was the same and buickzz's evidence backs this up.
