Red Motor Rocker V8 Covers on VN heads

A mate was trying to tell me he has seen adaptor plates around that would allow me to use my old original pressed tin red motor rocker covers on a set of VN heads. I have not heard of this previously, has anyone else heard (or seen) of such?

Skeptical... But hope to be proven wrong as I wouldn't mind a set!

    Gotta link if so?

Good idea , I just mite make one so I can cut the top out of an old rocker cover so I can adjust my roller rockers without making a mess.
    Cheers

Have been thinking about it and think (if they don't exist to purchase, as I would have thought we'd have seen them around by now if they did) that I could mod a set of VN rocker covers by cutting them down to the right height and then getting a correct shaped mating surface welded onto them to suit the tin covers. As long as they cleared the installed height of the rockers I couldn't see why they wouldn't need to be any more than about 15-20mm deep. Hmmmm...

What about the bolts? I know my mate got tabs welded to his alloy Corvette heads to run early rocker covers as the steel ones with centre bolts are ugly.

I should be able to get around that because I'll only be using the lower inch (or less) of the original VN covers to make the adaptor plate, then fabbing a mating surface onto it to suit the early covers and using countersunk machine screws to ensure a flat mating surface underneath the tin covers. I can actually see how I'll do it, but can also see how this might be very much easier to get cut out of a piece of billet instead.

    A work in progress...

Ive just had a look and it should be easy enough to make simple plate out of something about 6mm thick that bolts down to the vn heads with countersunk machine screws and is drilled and threaded for studs or bolts for the tin covers to sit on.
If I get time in the next few days Ill knock one up and post it here .
