The number of times I had to bend over and count my tows just to get a injected 5L and trans legal in my hz wagon was seriously frustrating. It had a lot to do with the vague way the rules are written and the greedy arrogant power hungry pedantic ass of an engineer I had to deal with being 550k north of perth.
I also have to ask why when the val is so close to completion why it hasn't been.
Not sure why its not finished, it does look pretty close. Maybe as you say there is an issue with legality. Did a bit of a search on Smooth Cruisin which I found on a facebook site as Smooth Customs in Beenleigh. Lot of interesting stuff including photos of this build. I remember Paul Kelly doing a column in Street & Custom magazine back in the 80s so hes been at the job a while.
Lots of stuff gets built without folks doing the research and something minor gums up the works.
Years ago I wanted to fit a 100L lpg tank in my RX7 , basically where the back seat is. But because it was complianced as a 4 seater there was no way the man would license it. so it got a 60L tank mounted behind the back seat.
Just an example of how small things can derail a project permanently.
[QUOTE=wbute;78740]The chopped Holden van belongs to Ozbox.[/QUOTE
You would nearly think it was a photo shop job at first glance.http://www.aussiev8.com.au/holden-v8...some-idea.html
I've actually got all the bits, a spare pov spec rust free wagon (to avoid cutting up the premier) and I've got some extra coupe doors as well. Only thing I'm lacking at the moment might be the skill, but I've got a new workshop in progress and a good network of skilled automotive craftsmen who I've done plenty of favours for. Might practice my welding on the wife's Valiant before I attack a Holden with a grinder.
This is the thread on Ozboxs van. Shame all the old members have left from here to talk about this stuff.

Scroll to the bottom for the chopped van. I looked at the air brushed van last time I was there. Amazing even for me who isn't into murals or vans.
The monaro windows sloping back at the rear looks a bit off, would probably look better squarer, hard to achieve without custom glass though.
Go the old AP5
I think Chrysler was a little more adventurous in their styling and it wasnt to everyones tastes. I grew up with dads 67 VC.....that thing was a tank and it just wouldnt die......18 yrs of loyal service that gave us. Only in its last days it started blowing smoke.....cried like a baby when i saw that drive away :(
Would really dig seeing some shots of the AP5
My cousin basically cant enter his hardtop in mopar shows anymore.....he cleans up everything. Theyve politely asked him not to enter it for a while. It really is a thing of beauty. Has the design team autographs on the air cleaner too!!
And here is his CL Charger, another stunning car......skip to 4:10 to check it out. Its a V8 killer that one
Nearly bought a VJ regal last year, red with cream interior immaculate car,but I would really like a VK 770 charger, hard tops are awesome too, love the vinyl roof.there is a hardtop sitting in a paddock near us with a 360 and Chrysler by Chrysler front if I had room I would go and rescue it
