Hey guys, i'm looking to restore my GTS Gauges in my van. I have got a glass kit off rare spares to put on the front but i was wondering how to clean the needle and basically get the gauges looking like new
cheers

i've used a soft brush (paint brush) and just given them a good dusting. if dirty use warm water only and push a bit. chemicals will likely just stain or remove colour off any of the instruments. see how you go but its so hard get stuff that is 40 years old to look new without painting/restoring

Be real careful. The paint will chip off the needles easily. I am sure if you are careful you could touch them up. Mostly it's just dust on them and the new lens will make them appear brand new anyway.
For heavens sake don't do what I did with our red van and clean the gauges with windex. I took the colour off and was so cross with myself for being so stupid. Thankfully my gf who is very good with a paintbrush sorted it. I have never done that again and just used a dry paintbrush to Dust off the gauges and put new lenses over them.

Don't ever use electrical contact cleaner spray on them or you can just watch the paint drip off and the plastic crack. i know from experience
