Fairly one sided then....I guess Mad Max and the Interceptor wouldn't have been as good without the Weiand Roots Type blower right in your face at the start of MM2. Love it!

    No where near as good.

Without the blower, he's 'slightly annoyed max'

Any opinions? Blowers in or out....or maybe not at all? Should this be a separate post?
it depends on how strict they are down your way. Put VN heads on then buy a Max wedge manifold. You can get the charger under the bonnet, the manifold comes with injector ports in it as we'll. I'm very much looking at this option myself. I absolutely love super chargers. They make the world go round.

Things seem not too bad down here, I remember when i lived in WA, blowers were banned anywhere near the road. You mention VN heads, what's the advantage?

Gene is one the money. Bigger ports/better flow, they got rid of the siamesed ports (hot spots and disturbed flow), so the inlet/exhaust manifolds, rocker covers and camshaft are different to the early model heads, though they will bolt straight up to the early bottom ends.

There are a couple of manufacturers of alloy VN heads (steer clear of the ebay heads if you want something that will last) that will more readily suit forced induction (heat dissipation and they flow much better out of the box than the standard VN cast iron heads). Head/port/valve technology has changed quite a bit in the last few years and machine work is more easliy tailored to specific purposes such as forced induction.

These are the heads I am going with on my stroker build. Not cheap, but will handle what I'm setting out to achieve better. I am yet to decide just how much I get out of the original manifold or if I am wasting my time using it. I know I'll get much more horsepower out of a twin throttle body manifold but I also want be able to (almost) get away with a standard looking injected engine from a quick open/shut of the bonnet. Intercooler might be a bit hard to hide though...
    Nunc est bibendum...

Wouldnt waste money on VN heads in a van unless you want 500HP there really isnt nothing wrong with cast heads
they would be fine on a 308
