    Thatotherguys HQ panel van

Went to a swap meet for a look and came home with this, 74 HQ van
Spend most of its life in dry inland SA, looks terrible but has a fantastic body.
Factory Salamaca Red with black trim, V8 3 speed manual, GTS dash, Statesman front, has a lot of original parts on it such as aircleaner, factory clamps etc.
Painted black 30? years ago with purple fluffy trim in the back
Pictures tell a lot of the story

Fwoar! A little bit of drool just ran down my chin....

Nice pick up. I'm not the guru on these things by a long shot but is that console (thinking mounts) and dash (is that a 220km/h speedo in there?) original fitment?

    Good solid starting point!

for some reason the speedo has been changed, the shifter is 3spd man and not the easiest thing to drive.I cant believe how solid this HQ is,the only reason it has a statesman front on it is because the old guy hit a roo and liked the statesman front better. This van is registered and has been used daily(i honestly dont know how it hasnt attracted police attention it looks really ratty) it has no rust in the cowls, roof, doors, rad support, floors and the top tailgate is perfectly rust free.It has a small amount of rust in front of the back wheels and the bottom tail gate.It still has the original carby and air cleaner and most of the hose clamps and the owners manual was in the glove box.paint code is 1824 with 30a trim

    Noice!!

A real nice pick up. I would drive it around like that after a couple of cosmetic changes.......... purple fluffy stuff may have to go lol.

    I am heaps jealous!
