Can anyone tell me if the height of the heads on a 5.0 injected motor used in VN VP etc is the same or sits higher than heads used in the carbie motors of earlier models I cant seem to find any dimensions on line for the injected motor, cheers

I don't know for certain but they look a little higher probably to accommodate the taller ports. Maybe 10-12mm or so.
Don't think so ports might be higher but as for dimensions , don't think so same manifold may be higher but not sure.
Don't know. But there have lots of fuel injected motors fitted to earlier series Holdens.
A four barrell throttle body on a harrop or torq power manifold with a standard air cleaner would look close to standard or would fool a few plus better flowing heads and power too easy to do .
Rocker covers give them up straight away!
I'm sure there was a slight height difference when I put the VP engine in my Overlander (with a Redline manifold and carb) but I can't remember where it was. Are the pushrods the same length as a carbied 253/308? Not a combination i'd recommend on a everyday driver, lost heaps of low rpm torque compared to the red 308 using the same carb and exhaust. HEAPS louder though.
