    Red face Costings for parts/labour

    Hi all,
Need to get a bit of work done on my WB van:
    -Front sway bar links
-Upper and lower control arm bushes
    -Rear spring hangar shackle rubbers.

I've been quote about 4 to 5 hours labour + parts and it comes to $1080.

I'm not in a position to do these myself unfortunately, but in your opinions, is this a fair quote?

Rear spring hangar shackle rubbers? i think every roadworthy workshop picks these if they are worn or not!
I had my front end rebuilt including idler arm, drag link, ball joints and top & bottom wishbones bushes for about $750

It's probably a fair "todays" rip off price. But I would shop around a little.
That really sounds like a Pedders price or one of the chain group prices.

Many mechanics would eat this type of job up and I would be surprised if you couldn't do a little better.

Have they seen the car? If they haven't physically looked underneath then they'd be wise to pad out the labour a bit to cover any difficulties with rusted or seized bolts.

Thanks guys. Will shop around. And yes correct, a Pedders price but he was recommended by my mechanic as a good guy.
