60's and 70's car show in Castlemaine

I saw some posters around town advertising this car show for the 30th March so I rang them and was advised that
"Our cut off year is 1965 chrome bumper."
I will just have to leave the van in the carpark!

I'm sorry Davestown, don't mean to laugh but, " 60's and 70's car show " but the cut off year is 1965?

Is that when the 70's ended? 1965?

A little bit of wee would have come out of me whilst laughing lol.

Is the 1965 cut-off year, the earliest or the latest car allowed ?

Seems strange to have a 60s & 70s car show with the latest car allowed a 1965 model.

BTW don't all 1965 cars have chrome bumpers ?

Maybe it's from 1965 up to the last of the chrome bumpers (early 80s).

If only that was the case. now received email from ASRF (street rod people) they have confirmed only pre 1965 can attend.

    I still don't get it.

It's described as a "Rod Run" & "cars from the 50s, 60s & 70s will be on display". But cars from 65 or later aren't allowed ????

Maybe the Rod run & the Car Show are 2 separate events ?

Hmmm. I guess interest wise they don't want 80% of those interested in cars there? I would estimate that today most interest lies in cars built post 1965. Yeah we all love a nice EH or FC or '57 Chevy but what car would attract most of us more than any? I bet most of use would say a car from the late 60's or mid 70's from an XR GT through to a HJ GTS coupe or HJ shape (HJ-HZ) Sandman.
