Seen a lot of photos of HZ's. Some have holden badge at top centre some have nothing. Which is correct?

As far as I am aware the emblem is on all ute, van, Kingswood, Kingswood SL, BO6 tonner, Premier and GTS except Sandman. This is backed up (from Sandman perspective) by parts catalogue, HZ Sandman brochure, HZ features book and HZ POA documents.
So those that didn't get the emblem were: XU3, XX7, Deville, SL/E and Caprice.
That's strange, most HZ Sandman's I have seen have the emblem top centre???

Yes I know, but everything I have says Sandman didn't have it, plus the HZ sales brochure shows the yellow van without it and the Seawitch (which evidence suggests was a 6cyl 3spd) with it.
What a quandary.
Most I have seen do but mine didn't.
Cant say mine was unmolested though.
I think you'll find it a case of early HZ didn't and later HZ did.

So a 9/77 sandman van doesnt have grill badge is this correct saves me hunting down one
That's a copy and paste error Sean from the HX documents, that badge is the Kingswood lion in the centre of the HX Kingswood and Sandman grille to replace the GTS badge of the HX GTS grille which was on HX Sandman.
The red badge isn't a Kingswood Lion badge, it was standard on most HZ. The key words are: "delete Holden grille and badge", and "GTS....black painted grille..." with no mention of a badge. Look at a HX Kingswood or Sandman photo and you'll see the Lion badge.
