Guys, it is B. C is heated air with no fan (ie "except forced air").
Les, just look at the HX parts catalogue, it is obvious:
A is in group 9.278 which is A/C.
B is in group 9.779 section titled "forced air ventilation"
C is in group 9.779 section titled "exc. forced air ventilation".
It's back to front as well. Don't make them like that.
disagree Byron. Fan is 2 speed and blows air through the demister vents.... UP... Or through the footwell vent.. DOWN ..
when you optioned forced air ventilation the fan also blows through the dash vents and you got the dashpad with the two extra vents in the middle.
That is how it worked in my old HJ Holden van and my old HQ Sandman van.... Neither had forced air ventilation but both had a two speed fan for heater/demister and footwell.
HQ controls below.... Non forced air ventilation but has fan to interior (footwell vent) and to demister.

I'm with Absinth.
The facia pictured is definitely to suit a plain jane heater without the forced air option. So I'm going with C.
The facia to suit 'forced air' has extra markings on the bottom row, where 'zero' is just left of centre.
Byron, the plain heater/demister & the 'forced air option', both have a fan.
BTW Les, as wbute has pointed out, that picture is reversed, which makes it a little to more difficult to fathom.

OK I get you. I always thought "forced air" meant fan forced, but obviously I was wrong!
Also answers a question that has confounded me for a while, HZ lists "forced air" as part of Sandman, but later it becomes standard across the range. As I thought it meant "fan" I wondered as I'd never seen one without a fan.
So the ones with the slide controls for the vents are "forced air"?

Yes, it is a bit confusing, the name 'forced air' is ambiguous.
Basically if we ignore factory air cond system, there are 2 basic heater/demister systems used in HQ-WB, 'standard' & 'forced air ventilation'.
All HQ & most HJ had the standard system, very simple, 2 vents (outer only) & 2 cables:- hot/cold & floor/screen.
In HJ, Premiers & GTSs etc. got 'forced air' as standard kit. It was optional on the lesser models, but you don't see it that often.
Forced air had 4 a/cond style vents (not 2 standard ones) & had 3 cables. The extra cable operated the hot water valve, which the standard system don't have.
I don't have my literature in front of me ATM, but I believe 'forced air' was made standard for Kingswood level cars either towards the end of HJ or for the introduction of HX. By the time of WB release even the base models had forced air as standard.
There was one major change made to forced air in production. All of the HJ & HX versions that I've seen have a large hard plastic duct feeding the 2 centre vents. HZ & WB had 2 flexible tubes instead of the large duct.
AFAIK, the only HQ-WB without a fan, are the export versions with no heater/demister at all.
