Does anyone know where to source new water pump studs from for a Holden V8? The studs that came out of the old pump are no longer serviceable and I am looking to replace them. A search online reveals nothing although I may be using the wrong terminology.
Studs? The water pump is held on with bolts and the fan to water pump is also bolts.
You do have two locater dowel pins. Not sure what you are chasing?
When I say studs think studs similar to the outlet on an exhaust manifold. Last time I had a Holden V8 it had studs in the pump that held the fan as well but the car was a VB Commodore. Having said that sourcing bolts would be easier so I'll go with bolts! Cheers.
The bolts that hold the fan to the water pump are UNF and the bolts that hold the water pump to the timing cover are UNC. The lengths are different too, it's handy to have an old set so you get the correct shank length.
EDIT; The threads on the water pump I just looked at is UNC where the fan attaches so check 1st!!!

They are studs for cars with viscous fan and spacer and are different lengths depending upon the radiator, series and if it is pre or post long nose water pump.
You won't get bolts to work with a viscous fan. Either get some from a wreckers or get some made or make them yourself with the right size rod and correct thread dies.
A bolt supplier should have the right studs. They will be made in China though because only three people in Australia can operate a lathe now.
The threads are different on both ends, unlkely to be on a shelf somewhere.
