    Traveling again

Got the van back after 4 months in the panel shop(tin worm)worse than I thought,Buget went out the window so instead of been painted a nice lime green she came back in her factory colour Deauville blue,As I have said before she is a factory 308 4 speed manual and runs like a clock(only 200000ks)So after having her back for 2 days we found ourself 1500ks away from home(we threw a mattress in the back)Went down and back up the west coast of the south island of New Zealand. On a few shingle roads (untill we run out of road. top r/h pic)We will be decking out the back this winter as will be taking her all over NZ. here are a few pics

I love the idea that you got in the car and started driving without a destination... just kept driving. You don't get more 'Sandman' than that!

Congratulations on getting it completed, it looks cool as bro.

Cheers for that! That was the whole idea of buying her,My wife and I like the old school cars/Vans etc.And we just could not bring our selfs into buying a mazda or a nissan van to travel in.These like us have heaps of personality to drive. The idea is just to say it is a long weekend so lets go.And with these old girls it is mostly about the journey and not the destination.

My wife and I are thinking about doing a trip down to Melbourne via the coast road (never been that way) later this year after I get my shoulder surgery and we are planning to take the van and just stop at all the small towns and beaches and check them out. We would normally stay in motels, but the odd night in the van at a beach if necessary will be cool. Campfire, van, surfboard, towel, a couple of changes of clothes and just RELAX.
