Ok stupid question how do you remove the rear axials out of a banjo diff?
It's spelled AXLES !!
With the procedure for pulling axles out of Holden rear ends, it doesn't matter if it's Banjo or Salisbury, but it does depend on which model series.
All HQ to WB have tapered type rear bearings so they're easier than HG/LJ & earlier. With all Holdens you need to remove the drum (or disc & caliper) & then undo the 4 retaining nuts, using the holes in the axle flange to gain access.
After that, most axles should pull out using a small slide hammer, failing that just fit a brake drum on backwards with the nuts left loose & give it a few short pulls to remove the axle shaft. Often the outer ring of the bearing will remain in the housing but it's not a tight fit. By using a hook or small screwdriver, it should be easy to extricate.
The same method is used for earlier Holdens but a much more serious slide hammer is usually needed to pull the old ball race type bearings out of the housing.

Yeah I relised after I posted it that it was spelt wrong I had all the brake dum and the 4 nuts off but I could only get the axle to move about an 1/8 of an inch I didn't know if there was a retainer clip or anything.
Now I'm having trouble in removing the diff center it keeps jamming on one side
Have you got both axles out first before centre
Yeah both axles out I thought once you unbolt it it all should just come out easy.
I've got it out now but it took a few good wamerings and a pri bar to get it out.
At least I found the problem now
Sorry about the spelling guys just finished a 13hr night shift and the auto correct changed it and I didn't relised
But at least I found the problem has anybody seen this happen before?

Go and find yourself a ute/van/tonner Salisbury and tailshaft. Bugger using banjos on HQ-HZ!
