I need a good upper tail gate, can you help?

Hi All

I need to source a good (as possible) upper tail gate for my WB van and haven't had much luck with wreckers or eBay. I don't want to use a fibreglass reproduction and am looking for the best option to supply my panel beater. NOS would be awesome but I bet this would be impossible now. Can anyone put me onto one for sale?

if its any help to you i sold one about 6 months ago for $850 and it was bare. scuff and paint cond. it was perfect. might give you some idea what you're up for. all the best

I bought a good spare off ebay about 18 mths ago for $50 no rust just has a small tear in the metal where the handle goes , guy I bought it off owned a sandman previously and it was a spare, I will be keeping it as a spare.

You're not going to have much luck with upper tailgates, I've been trying for a while and the only option is the fibreglass ones. They are very good and virtually impossible to notice that they aren't original, plus they don't rust.

You may find a steel one, but a good one will cost heaps and most of them are being saved for spares by people that have them.

Laverton wreckers had a HJ van in their yard 12 months ago with a rust free upper tailgate on it, worth giving them a call if you want one really badly as it may still be there..... They are a bunch of dicks to deal with and wouldn't give me a price on it without checking prices on eBay first so I told them to shove it and left.

I was driving down a country lane the other day and saw a rusty hj van in the paddock went and saw the property owner and picked up top and bottom tailgate in good nick for $150.00. Absolutely rapped as i had been looking for ages.
